Overview
I re-designed the Ellucian Go App. This is a school app in order to support students' school life. It is very inconvenient to use because students have to log in every moment when they log in. Also, there are a lot of options and those are all separated even if they have a similar function.

Research
I researched what functions should be included in this student app. A lot of student app has a student card, transportation card, and grade managing functions. Students have to bring their Presto Card (Transportation card), student card, wallet and phone, and it is a lot of stress if something will be missing. Some of the students couldn't use the school facilities because they forgot to bring their student cards. So I combined the payment function and student card function in the app.
Sketch
This is a very rough sketch. I recreated the UX/UI in order to make it more convenient for users to use. Some assets are modified on the final prototype. I added a digital student card, payment function, My Humber function (which can manage students' information), Blackboard function (which can manage students' assignments), Humber Homepage, and the school e-mail function. Especially, I also added Presto Card in order for convenience, so there is no hurry to prepare to tap the Presto card before we get on a bus.
Wireframe
This is a wireframe. I just wanted to simplify the functions.
Colour and Font Selection
The main colour of the Ellucian Go App is purple, so I maintained the purple colour, but the hue is only changed. The font is SF Display font family and Europa(Bold).
Mock-up
The main page is including the student card with a bar code. Students can slide the cards to the bottom of the screen. The cards move left and right. Students can see their program course, grade, and email.
Final Idea
This project was exciting. I really didn't like the UI/UX of the Ellucian Go App because there are too much information and unorganized functions and everything was mingled. While I was redesigning the app, I could imagine and added some other functions - such as "Remember me", Presto Card, combined other apps - such as "Blackboard", "Humber.ca", and "Email", and removed a lot of overlapped functions and unnecessary functions - such as "My Humber; timetable, grade, progress", "Humebr.ca; Humber events, Humber Today", "Library", "Social Media", "Financial Aid"... . The most difficult work is removing a lot of functions, but sometimes boldness brings good results. The thing I want is to Simplify, and the result is satisfying me.
